よる / よう
Hakata: An Action in Progress
An ongoing action can use a verb stem plus よる, with contracted よう in Hakata speech.
How It Works
今、本を読みよる describes reading in progress. 写真を撮りよる likewise describes someone currently taking a photo, not a completed result.
Forms such as 読みよう represent a local contraction. Written よう can also be the ordinary volitional elsewhere, so the parser must use the whole predicate and scene rather than the final syllables alone.
The contrast is useful, but real speakers vary and shared -ている is also available. Avoid turning every stative predicate into an ongoing action.
