nọ: Being Somewhere
Who + nọ + place: Obi nọ n'ahịa.
How It Works
Nọ is the “is” word for location. The place comes right after it.
| Example | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Ha nọ n'ụlọ. | They are at home. |
| Ọ nọ ebe a. | He or she is here. |
| Obi nọ n'ahịa. | Obi is at the market. |
The negative is anọghị with m: Anọghị m n'ụlọ “I am not at home”. Nọ can also come before na- to say someone is or was in the middle of an action: Ọ nọ na-agụ akwụkwọ “he or she was reading”.
