ka After a Question Word
Question word + ka + subject + verb.
How It Works
Many Igbo questions have the shape question word + ka + the rest.
| Example | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Ebee ka ị na-aga? | Where are you going? |
| Gịnị ka ị chọrọ? | What do you want? |
| Onye ka ọ bụ? | Who is it? |
| Ole ka ọ bụ? | How much is it? |
Not every question needs ka. A question with bụ can go without it: Gịnị bụ aha gị? The same ka also means “let” and “so that”, which later lessons teach.
