a: This
Noun + a: this.
How It Works
A short word after the noun means “this”.
| Example | Meaning |
|---|---|
| nwoke a | this man |
| ụlọ a | this house |
| nri a | this food |
It works as a word of its own, so a is written apart from the noun. It is not the same as the helper a- or the verb prefix. The plural is ndị a, as in ndị enyi a.
For something farther away, use ahụ. For “this one” with no noun, use nke a.
