How Are You
Pehea ʻoe means “How are you?” Answer with maikaʻi au.
How It Works
Pehea means “how”. Put it before the pronoun to ask how someone is:
| Question | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Pehea ʻoe? | How are you? |
| Pehea ʻoukou? | How are you all? |
| Pehea ʻolua? | How are you two? |
Answer with a describing word and a pronoun: Maikaʻi au “I am fine”, Hauʻoli au “I am happy”. To ask the question back, say A ʻo ʻoe? “And you?”.
