ndaipóri
There Is None
Ndaipóri means there is none.
How It Works
Ndaipóri and oĩ are a pair. Oĩ says that something exists or is somewhere. Ndaipóri says that it does not.
| Sentence | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Oĩ pakova. | There are bananas. |
| Ndaipóri pakova. | There are no bananas. |
The word has one shape. It means “there is none” for one thing and for many, so the noun needs no plural.
Write the accent on ó. The stress falls on po, and the accent shows it.
As an answer, Ndaipóri. alone is enough. Oĩpa pakova? Ndaipóri. means “Are there bananas? There are none.”
Words for “nothing” and “nobody” can follow it, because Guarani repeats the negative. They get their own entry.
