Asking How Someone Is
The verb follows the pronoun: شما goes with استید, and تو goes with استی.
How It Works
Every meeting has a how-are-you. Pick the question by who you ask.

| Friend, sibling, child | جور استی؟ | جور استم. |
چطور means how. جور means well or fit, so جور استی؟ asks Are you well? Both questions are answered with خوب or جور plus استم.
The verb ending follows the pronoun you choose. تو goes with استی. شما goes with استید. Never mix them.
After you answer, ask back: شما چطور استید؟ Add the name or title for warmth: جور استی، لیلا؟
