The new person or thing comes right before هم.
How It Works
هم means also, too and either. It sits right after the word that is added.

| من هم خوب استم. | I am well too. |
| فرید هم اینجا است. | Farid is here too. |
| او هم نیست. | He is not here either. |
The word before هم is the new one. In من هم خوب استم, the new person is من. In چای هم خوب است, the new thing is the tea.
With a negative verb, هم means either: او هم نیست (he is not here either). For both and neither as a pair, see the pattern هم … هم.
