трябва да е + -л Participle
Deductions with Трябва Да Е
Трябва да е заминал. means He must have left. You are not sure, but you are drawing a confident conclusion.
How It Works
1. The shape. трябва да + a present form of съм + the л-participle. Трябва itself never changes; the rest is simply the present perfect after да:
- Трябва да съм забравил ключовете вкъщи. (I must have left my keys at home.)
- Трябва да си сбъркал номера. (You must have dialled the wrong number.)
- Трябва да е заминал. (He must have left.)
- Трябва да са излезли. (They must have gone out.)
2. States in the past. With an adjective, use the participle of съм: Трябва да е била уморена. (She must have been tired.) For a deduction about the present, leave the participle out: Трябва да е вкъщи. (He must be at home.)
3. Negative guesses. Put не after да: Трябва да не е чул звънеца. (He must not have heard the doorbell.) Не трябва да at the front means must not as a rule, so it does not express this guess.
4. Deduction or obligation? The same shape can also mean an obligation to have finished something by a certain time: Трябва да си свършил до петък. (You must have finished by Friday.) Context tells you which is meant. The plain трябва да + present expresses ordinary obligation.
5. How sure are you? Трябва да е заминал is quite confident. Сигурно е заминал is similar, вероятно е заминал is a bit weaker, and може да е заминал only says it is possible. See expressing probability.

Съм agrees with the speaker, аз.

Common Mistakes
Using трябва да with a simple verb for a guess about the past.
Трябва да замина.Трябва да е заминал.The intended meaning is "He must have left." Трябва да замина means "I have to leave." A guess about the past needs a form of съм plus the л-participle.
Always using е, whatever the subject.
Трябва да е забравил ключовете вкъщи.Трябва да съм забравил ключовете вкъщи.The intended meaning is "I must have forgotten my keys at home." The form of съм agrees with the subject, so аз needs съм. With е, the sentence is about "him".
