Къде means "where": Къде е гарата? (Where is the station?) Къде отиваш? (Where are you going?)
How It Works
Location:
Къде е гарата? (Where is the station?)
Къде живееш? (Where do you live?)
Къде си? (Where are you?)
Destination:
Къде отиваш? (Where are you going?)
Къде да седна? (Where should I sit?)
Where from: Use one word: Откъде си? (Where are you from?) Bulgarian does not put a preposition at the end of the question.
A particular place or any place? Ask about a particular place with е and a noun with the article: Къде е аптеката? (Where is the pharmacy?) To ask where you can find one at all, use има and no article: Къде има аптека? (Where is there a pharmacy?)
Answers: тук (here), там (there), вкъщи (at home), or a phrase with в or на: в София (in Sofia, to Sofia), на работа (at work, to work).

Common Mistakes
Asking where someone is from with къде and a final preposition.
Къде си от?Откъде си?Bulgarian has one word for "where from": откъде. A preposition cannot end the question.
Using е with a noun that has no article.
Къде е аптека?Къде е аптеката?With е, you mean a particular place, so the noun needs the article. To ask about any pharmacy, say Къде има аптека?
