харесва ми
Liking with Харесва Ми
Харесва ми means "I like it", literally "it pleases me". The liked thing is the subject: Харесва ми тази песен.
How It Works
1. Who likes it. Харесва ми (I like it), харесва ти (you like it), харесва му (he likes it), харесва ѝ (she likes it), харесва ни (we like it), харесва ви (you like it), харесва им (they like it).
2. One thing or several. Харесва ми тази песен. (I like this song.) Харесват ми тези песни. (I like these songs.)
3. Liking an activity. Add да and a verb. Харесва stays singular: Харесва ми да готвя. (I like cooking.)
4. Questions and negation. Харесва ли ти? (Do you like it?) Не ми харесва. (I don't like it.) The short pronoun never starts the sentence; see placement of short pronouns.
5. Naming the person. Add на + a name or full pronoun and keep the short pronoun: На Мария ѝ харесва тук. (Maria likes it here.)
6. After you try something. Use the perfective past хареса: Хареса ли ти филмът? (Did you like the film?) Много ми хареса. (I liked it a lot.)
7. Харесвам. The verb харесвам also exists, with the person as subject: Харесвам те. (I like you.) Харесвам тази песен is correct too, but for things харесва ми is the most common everyday choice.

Common Mistakes
Keeping харесва singular with a plural thing.
Харесва ми тези обувки.Харесват ми тези обувки.The verb agrees with the thing you like. Обувки is plural, so use харесват.
Using a direct object pronoun for the person.
Харесва ме тази песен.Харесва ми тази песен.Ме, те and го are direct object pronouns. The person who likes something takes the dative form: ми, ти, му.
Making the person the subject of харесва.
Аз харесва тази песен.Харесва ми тази песен.Харесва agrees with the song, not with you. If you want аз as the subject, use харесвам: Харесвам тази песен.
