kakav
What Kind: Kakav
Kakav asks "what kind of" and matches the noun in gender and number.
How It Works
Kakav asks about quality. The answer is an adjective.
| Gender | Form | Example |
|---|---|---|
| masculine | kakav | Kakav je film? |
| feminine | kakva | Kakva je kafa? |
| neuter | kakvo | Kakvo je vrijeme? |
| plural | kakvi, kakve, kakva | Kakvi su ćevapi? |
It takes case endings, too: Kakvu kafu piješ? (accusative) and U kakvom stanu živiš? (locative).
For a plural thing, the answer is plural too: Kakvi su ćevapi? Ukusni su. (What are the ćevapi like? They are tasty.)
Do not mix it with koji, which asks "which one": Koji film gledaš? You can also use it in exclamations: Kakav dan!
