Jedan, jedna and jedno are the masculine, feminine and neuter forms of "one".

The number also appears in bigger numbers that end in one: dvadeset jedan, dvadeset jedna, dvadeset jedno. The form matches the noun here too.

In an order you often hear Jednu kafu, molim. The ending -u is the accusative case, which a later entry explains. In the dictionary form it is jedna kafa.

Besides counting, jedan can mean "a certain" or "some": jedan prijatelj can be "a friend of mine". Words that exist only in the plural, such as vrata (door), use a plural form of one: jedna vrata.
