koga čega kome čemu
Ko and Šta in the Cases
Ko and šta take case endings: koga, kome, kim and čega, čemu, čim.
How It Works
The question words decline too.
| Case | people (ko) | things (šta) |
|---|---|---|
| nominative | ko | šta |
| genitive | koga | čega |
| dative | kome | čemu |
| accusative | koga | šta |
| locative | kome | čemu |
| instrumental | kim | čim |
Choose by the verb or preposition: Koga zoveš? Kome pišeš? S kim ideš u grad? O čemu pričaš? Čega se sjećaš?
The answer uses the same case as the question: Koga zoveš? is answered with Zovem Amira., and Kome pišeš? with Pišem Lejli.
The longer instrumental forms kime and čime are also heard. Whatever verb takes a case in a sentence also takes it in the question.
