mislim da
Giving an Opinion
I think that + a normal clause.
How It Works
Use a short phrase and da to give an opinion. After da, the clause is normal.
- Mislim da je to dobro. I think that is good.
- Vjerujem da Amir dolazi. I believe Amir is coming.
- Čini mi se da je kasno. It seems to me that it is late.
The tense follows the idea: Mislim da je došla (she came), Mislim da će doći (she will come).
To give a negative opinion you can either negate the second verb or the first: Mislim da nije dobro. and Ne mislim da je dobro. Both are used.
To ask someone's opinion, use Šta misliš? or Šta mislite o ovome? Do not confuse it with misliti na, which means to think about someone: Mislim na tebe. (I am thinking of you.)
Do not leave out da. English can use "I think it is good", but Bosnian needs da there.
