svaki
Every
Svaki + singular noun, matched in gender.
How It Works
Svaki is an adjective, so it agrees with the noun in gender:
| Gender | Form | Example |
|---|---|---|
| masculine | svaki | svaki dan |
| feminine | svaka | svaka kuća |
| neuter | svako | svako jutro |
The noun that follows is always singular, even though the meaning is "all of them, one by one". Use svaka djevojka, not a plural.
The forms change with case like other adjectives. Time phrases often use the genitive: svakog dana, svake sedmice, svakog jutra. These come at Level 3.
If you mean "everybody", use svako or svi: Svi dolaze. The word svako alone, with no noun, also means "everyone": Svako zna. That works as a general statement.
