tog
Tog pushes gently: Kom tog in! (Do come in!) It can also mean "after all": Sy het tog gekom. (She came after all.)
How It Works
1. A friendly push. In commands, tog makes the request warmer and more insistent: Kom tog in! (Do come in!)
2. After all. Tog can mean something happened despite doubts: Sy het tog gekom. (She came after all.)
3. Insistence, hope or worry.
- Dit is tog nie so moeilik nie. (It's really not that hard.)
- Ek hoop tog hy bel vanaand. (I really hope he calls tonight.)
- Jy het tog nie jou sleutels vergeet nie? (You didn't forget your keys, did you?)
4. At the start: yet, nevertheless. Tog can also link two ideas. Then the verb comes straight after it: Dit was koud; tog het ons gaan swem. (It was cold; still, we went swimming.)
5. Where it goes. Inside the sentence, tog comes after the verb and before a separable prefix or the end of the sentence: Kom tog in!

Kom in tog!Kom tog in!Tog goes before the separable prefix in, which stays at the end.
Not moving the verb after tog at the start.
Dit was koud, tog ons het gaan swem.Dit was koud, tog het ons gaan swem.At the start of a clause, tog takes first place, so the verb het must come next.
