k / h + Dative
Toward Someone
K takes the dative for movement toward a person or place.
How It Works
K takes the dative for movement toward a person or place. Use h before words beginning with k or g. The change to h is a sound-based spelling rule, not a different case.
The preposition depends on the next pronounced word: h kolegu, but k dobremu kolegu. An intervening adjective can therefore change k/h. Both versions still select dative agreement throughout the noun phrase.
