čim ... tem
Linked Comparisons
Čim ... tem links two changing quantities or degrees: as one increases or decreases, the other changes.
How It Works
Čim ... tem links two changing quantities or degrees: as one increases or decreases, the other changes. Comparative forms appear in both parts.
Build two comparative clauses: čim več berem sets one scale and tem več razumem sets the linked scale. The pairing is not a conditional če. A decrease can be expressed too, as in čim manj ... tem manj.
