Learn common comparatives with their base adjectives: dober becomes boljši, velik večji and majhen manjši. Adjective comparatives still agree with the noun they describe.

The comparative stem changes before agreement endings are added: boljši načrt, boljša ideja, boljše vprašanje. Do not combine ordinary bolj with an already comparative form merely to make a standard comparison; learn dober → boljši as a unit.
