One Another: inter se, alius alium
One Another
Use inter se, inter nos or inter vos for each other, and alius alium for one another.
How It Works
| Latin | English |
|---|---|
| inter se | with each other (they) |
| inter nos | with each other (we) |
| inter vos | with each other (you all) |
| alius alium | one another |
The word after inter is in the accusative, because inter takes the accusative. It matches the subject: nos inter nos, vos inter vos.
Alius alium is the first word in the nominative and the second in the accusative. In the plural it is alii alios, as in Alii alios adiuvant (They help one another).
Plain se means themselves, so Pueri se amant means The boys love themselves.
