murar

Past Negative Conditions

Level 4

Murar occurs with many past negative conditions: Murar chríochnaigh tú é, abair liom. Irregular verbs can use mura with their dependent form.

How It Works

Murar occurs with many past negative conditions: Murar chríochnaigh tú é, abair liom. Irregular verbs can use mura with their dependent form.

Murar is used with many simple-past negative conditions. It is followed by the appropriate past form rather than a second negative particle. Some irregular past verbs keep mura and their dependent stem, as in mura raibh, so do not force murar onto every past conditional clause.
