go
Going to a Place
Go often marks destination with place names: go Corcaigh, go hÉirinn. Article-bearing place names use different constructions.
How It Works
Go often marks destination with place names: go Corcaigh, go hÉirinn. Article-bearing place names use different constructions.
Go marks movement towards many place names without an article. It adds h before a vowel, as in go hÉirinn. Names that include the definite article need an appropriate article-bearing destination construction, so go is not a universal replacement for English to.
