Equality With agka-

Equal Degrees of a Property

Level 3

Agkataytayag means equally tall; agkasirsirib means equally intelligent.

How It Works

Equality forms combine agka- with a copied portion of a property base. Two established formations are agka- + tay + tayag → agkataytayag and agka- + sir + sirib → agkasirsirib. A plural pronoun, plural noun phrase or coordinated pair identifies the comparison set. With names, da Elena ken ni Rosa identifies Elena and Rosa together.

The construction compares degree: the people are equally tall or equally intelligent. It does not assert that they share every characteristic or rank one above another. Greater-degree comparison instead uses a comparative property form and a ngem standard. Attached tayo includes the addressee. Learn each established equality word. These two CVC formations do not make every property base follow one automatic copying rule. Learn other equality words from their own established formations.
