na: With
A na B: A with B.
How It Works
The same na that means “and” also means “with”.
| Example | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Ya na nne ya gara ahịa. | He or she went to the market with his or her mother. |
| Anyị na ha na-agụ akwụkwọ. | We are reading with them. |
Context decides between “and” and “with”. The first person is the main actor, and the second joins in. When the second person comes after the verb, na still means “with”, as in Ana m eri nri na nwanne m.
