Many and a Little: ọtụtụ, ntakịrị
Many and a Little
Ọtụtụ before the noun. Ntakịrị after the phrase or the noun.
How It Works
Two quantity words work in different places.
| Word | Meaning | Example |
|---|---|---|
| ọtụtụ | many, much | ọtụtụ nri a lot of food |
| ntakịrị | a little | Ana m asụ Igbo ntakịrị. |
Ọtụtụ works for things you count and things you do not: ọtụtụ akwụkwọ “many books”, ọtụtụ mmiri “much water”. Ntakịrị can also follow a noun, as in nri ntakịrị “a little food”. Ọzọ means “again” or “another”.
