αν και
Although
Αν και introduces a concession: something holds despite a reason to expect otherwise.
How It Works
Αν και introduces a concession: something holds despite a reason to expect otherwise.
Unlike conditional αν, this construction normally presents the subordinate situation as a fact. Ordinary finite tenses express the appropriate time; do not treat every initial αν as conditional.
