Adjective Plural Agreement

Level 1

In basic nominative plural descriptions, masculine adjectives commonly end in -i, feminine in -e and neuter in -a. The noun determines the matching form.

How It Works

Use Gradovi su veliki., Kuće su velike. and Sela su velika. The plural linking verb is su in all three; the adjective supplies the gender distinction.

The noun’s actual grammatical pattern matters. Irregular collective nouns such as djeca need separate agreement guidance; do not classify every plural solely by its final vowel.

These are nominative plural forms. An object or a prepositional phrase can require another case, with different adjective endings. Begin by matching a plural subject to a plural description, then extend the whole noun phrase to other roles.
