Plural Adjectives
Plural nouns need plural adjectives.
How It Works
| gender | singular | plural |
|---|---|---|
| masculine | dobar prijatelj | dobri prijatelji |
| feminine | dobra kafa | dobre kafe |
| neuter | dobro selo | dobra sela |
The masculine plural ends in -i, the same ending as the nominative plural of many masculine nouns. For masculine nouns that are not people (stari mostovi), the pattern is the same.
The adjective follows the noun's gender and number, even when the noun looks odd. Djeca is a good example: it looks like a feminine singular noun, but the adjective and the verb are plural: mala djeca, moja djeca, djeca su.
The adjective mali already ends in -i in the singular, but it still changes in the feminine and neuter plural: mali stolovi, male kuće, mala sela.
