Ordinal Numbers
Ordinal numbers say which one in a row.
How It Works
| number | ordinal |
|---|---|
| 1 | prvi |
| 2 | drugi |
| 3 | treći |
| 4 | četvrti |
| 5 | peti |
| 10 | deseti |
These are the masculine forms. For feminine, change the end to -a, and for neuter to -o: prvi dan, prva sedmica, prvo mjesto. Treći is a special one: treća, treće.
From eleven on, the ordinals come from the number by adding -i: jedanaesti, dvadeseti. For bigger numbers, only the last word becomes an ordinal: dvadeset peti.
In writing, put a full stop after the number: 3. sprat. Use ordinals for dates, floors, streets and places in a list.
