дзякуй
Thanking
Дзякуй! means Thank you. Вялікі дзякуй! means Thank you very much. Add за and the thing: Дзякуй за каву (Thanks for the coffee).
How It Works
- Дзякуй: thanks, thank you. It suits any situation.
- Вялікі дзякуй: thank you very much. Шчыры дзякуй: heartfelt thanks.
- Дзякую + the dative: "I thank (someone)". Дзякую вам (polite), дзякую табе (informal). See дзякаваць + давальны.
To say what you are thankful for, use за with the accusative: дзякуй за дапамогу (for the help), за падарунак (for the gift), за ўсё (for everything). Feminine nouns in -а change to -у. See вінавальны жаночага роду -у/-ю.
To answer thanks, say Калі ласка (You're welcome) or Няма за што (Don't mention it). See калі ласка.

Leaving the noun after за in its basic form.
