How Do You Set Gemini Up for a Language?

Make a skill. A skill is a saved set of instructions, and Gemini uses it on its own when it fits what you ask. Google says Gems are turning into skills for personal accounts starting in November 2026, so a skill is the one to make now.

On gemini.google.com, open Customize, then Skills, then Create, and choose Create manually. Give the skill a name like language-coach. Type your details below, then copy the finished text into the skill's instructions.
