ㅎ has a few tricks. The first is that it disappears before vowels.
When ㅎ batchim meets ㅇ, the ㅎ vanishes. The vowel connects directly to the previous syllable!
ㅎ vanishes before vowels:
[조아] – ㅎ disappears [노아] – ㅎ disappears [나아] – ㅎ disappears
