First Letters

You will learn the alphabet one letter at a time, each with a picture to help you remember it. Here is your first letter!

Mailbox starts with the sound m, which is how you say म. On its own, म sounds like *ma*: most Hindi consonants are pronounced with a little *a* if there is no vowel after them.

Every new letter's picture works this way: the picture's name starts with the letter's sound.
