saa (So, Like That)
So, Like That: Saa
Saa means so or like that: Ɛte saa (It is so), Yɛ no saa (Do it like that), saa ara (just like that).
How It Works
1. Agreeing: ɛte saa
Ɛte saa means it is so, that's right or that's how it is. The negative asks for or gives a different view: Ɛnte saa (It is not so). See ɛnte saa?.
2. Doing something this way
Saa follows the verb and its object: Yɛ no saa (Do it like that), Ɔkaa saa (She said so), Nyɛ saa bio (Don't do that again). To stress it, saa can go first with na: Saa na ɛte (That is how it is).
3. Saa ara
Add ara to make it exact: saa ara (just like that, exactly so). Ɛte saa ara means that's exactly how it is.
4. Saa before a noun
When saa comes before a noun, it is the frame for that: saa abofra no (that child). See saa ... no.
5. Like a person or thing
To compare with something named, use te sɛ, not saa: Ɔte sɛ ne papa (He is like his father).

Common Mistakes
Using saa to compare with a named person or thing.
Ɔte saa ne papa.Ɔte sɛ ne papa.Saa means like that and takes no object. To say like someone, use te sɛ.
Putting saa before the verb.
Saa yɛ no.Yɛ no saa.Saa comes after the verb and its object. It goes first only when it is stressed with na, as in Saa na ɛte (That is how it is).
