To je introduces an identification, such as This is a book. Before a noun, demonstratives instead agree with it: ta knjiga. Plural identification normally uses To so.

In To je knjiga, to points to an item being identified and does not become ta because knjiga is feminine. In Ta knjiga je moja, ta directly modifies knjiga. Keep these two sentence structures distinct.
