तँ
Very Close Address with तँ
तँ is the plain, very close word for you.
How It Works
तँ is the lowest level of you. Parents use it with small children and close friends use it with each other. In most other places it is rude, so a learner should hold it back and understand it when others use it.
| Form | Boy or neutral | Girl |
|---|---|---|
| Present | जान्छस् | जान्छेस् |
| Past | गइस् | गइस् |
| Command | जा, खा, गर् | same |
The possessive is तेरो (your). Negative commands add न-: नजा, नगर्.
Never mix तँ with another level's ending. तँ goes with -स्, तिमी with -औ and तपाईं with -नुहुन्छ. Hearing तँ from a friend is a sign of closeness, but a learner who uses it with the wrong person can cause offense.
