atsižvelgiant į + accusative
Taking into Account
Atsižvelgiant į orą, kelionė atidėta. means Taking the weather into account, the trip has been postponed.
How It Works
Give the consideration. The phrase names something considered in reaching a decision. It is common in formal explanations and administrative writing.
Choose the subject pattern. It fits an impersonal or passive sentence such as Atsižvelgiant į prašymą, terminas pratęstas. If a named subject performs both actions, careful standard writing uses a matching half-participle: Atsižvelgdamas į orą, pakeičiau planą. Here the speaker is male; a woman uses atsižvelgdama.
Comma. An expanded gerund phrase may be separated by a comma to mark it as a distinct circumstance. The accusative after į is needed with or without that comma.
