nebe-
No Longer with Nebe-
Nebe- means no longer, not any more. Write it as part of the verb: Jis čia nebedirba. (He no longer works here.) Duonos nebėra. (There is no bread left.)
How It Works
How to build it
Put nebe- where ne- would go, joined to the verb: dirbu → nedirbu → nebedirbu; noriu → nebenoriu; galiu → nebegaliu. It works in every tense: nebebuvo (was no longer there), nebebus (will no longer be). See Negation With Ne-.
Nebėra
With yra, the two vowels merge into nebėra, just as ne + yra gives nėra: Pieno nebėra. (There is no milk left.) Jo čia nebėra. (He is not here any more.) See Negative Forms of Būti and Absence With Nėra.
The genitive after nebe-
A verb with nebe- is negated, so an accusative direct object changes to the genitive: turiu dviratį → nebeturiu dviračio, turiu pinigų → nebeturiu pinigų. See Genitive After Negation.
Reflexive verbs
When there is no lexical prefix, -si- comes straight after nebe-: mokosi → nebesimoko (no longer studies). See Reflexive -si- After a Prefix.
Nebe- or jau ne-?
Jau with a negated verb also means no longer: Jis čia jau nedirba. Both are correct; nebe- is shorter and very common. See Already and Still. The opposite prefix is tebe- (still): Jis tebedirba. See Still With Tebe-.

Common Mistakes
Translating no more word for word.
Aš čia ne daugiau dirbu.Aš čia nebedirbu.Ne daugiau means not more in amount. For no longer, join nebe- to the verb.
Writing nebe and yra as two words.
Pieno nebe yra.Pieno nebėra.Nebe- is joined to the verb, and with yra it merges into one word: nebėra.
Keeping the object in the accusative after nebe-.
Nebeturiu laiką.Nebeturiu laiko.Nebe- negates the verb, so the object moves into the genitive, just as after ne-.
