| genitive | fortis | fortis | fortium | fortium |
| dative | forti | forti | fortibus | fortibus |
| accusative | fortem | forte | fortes | fortia |
| ablative | forti | forti | fortibus | fortibus |
A dictionary lists such an adjective as fortis, forte. Omnis, omne, brevis, breve and dulcis, dulce follow the same pattern.
Compare the ablative of a noun with the ablative of an adjective: cum patre forti (with a brave father). The noun ends in -e and the adjective in -i.
The accusative plural can also end in -is: fortis. The ending -es is the one to learn first.

Common Mistakes
Giving a third declension adjective a second declension ending.
Puer fortus est.Puer fortis est.Fortis has no separate -us and -a forms. One form, fortis, serves for a boy and for a girl.
Using the masculine plural with a neuter noun.
Omnes dona bona sunt.Omnia dona bona sunt.Dona is neuter plural, so the adjective needs the neuter plural omnia. Omnes goes with masculine and feminine nouns.
