faigh / gheobhaidh

Getting in Present and Future

Level 3

Faigh has present faigheann and future gheobhaidh. Dependent future forms include ní bhfaighidh and an bhfaighidh rather than mechanically reusing the independent stem.

How It Works

Faigh has present faigheann and future gheobhaidh. Dependent future forms include ní bhfaighidh and an bhfaighidh rather than mechanically reusing the independent stem.

Faigh changes its future stem between independent and dependent forms. Gheobhaidh appears in a plain affirmative, while ní bhfaighidh and an bhfaighidh occur in the negative and question. Learn these alongside present faigheann rather than trying to regularize all forms to one stem.
