Cén selects a noun in questions: Cén leabhar? It is not followed by a second definite article in the same noun phrase.

Cén goes directly before the selected noun in ordinary questions. Do not insert an between cén and that noun. It can ask which or what depending on context: Cén leabhar? selects a book, while Cén t-am? asks the time.
