How It Works
Ordinary yes/no questions are commonly answered by repeating the relevant verb form: An dtuigeann tú? Tuigim. Do not use is ea for every question.
Irish does not have a single answer pair that works unchanged for every yes/no question. Repeat an appropriate affirmative or negative form of the verb: An dtuigeann tú? can be answered Tuigim or Ní thuigim. Copular questions follow their own answer patterns.
