ya mere: So
Reason, ya mere result.
How It Works
Ya mere is the mirror of n'ihi na. It puts the result last.
| Example | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Ada na-arịa ọrịa, ya mere ọ bịaghị. | Ada is ill, so she did not come. |
| Ọ dị oyi, ya mere anyị nọ n'ụlọ. | It is cold, so we are at home. |
Keep a comma before it. Each clause has its own subject and verb. Ya means “it” and mere means “did, made”: it literally says “it made”.
