Middle-Passive Form Without Passive Meaning
Some verbs have middle-passive forms with an ordinary active-like meaning.
How It Works
Some verbs have middle-passive forms with an ordinary active-like meaning.
Έρχομαι, σκέφτομαι and φοβάμαι are common examples. Do not invent an active counterpart by replacing -ομαι with -ω, and do not translate their morphology as an English passive.
| Greek | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Έρχομαι αύριο. | I am coming tomorrow. |
| Σκέφτομαι την Άννα. | I am thinking of Anna. |
| Φοβάμαι το σκοτάδι. | I am afraid of the dark. |
