Adjectives Used as Nouns
An adjective can stand with an article while its understood noun is omitted.
How It Works
An adjective can stand with an article while its understood noun is omitted.
Agreement still identifies a gender and number, and context supplies the missing referent or a conventional meaning. A neuter singular adjective can also name an abstract quality.
