Colours
Most colour words are adjectives and agree with their noun: crvena kuća, plavo more, bijeli sto.
How It Works
The main colours are crven (red), plav (blue), zelen (green), žut (yellow), crn (black), bijel (white), smeđ (brown), siv (grey), ljubičast (purple), ružičast (pink) and narandžast (orange). Each one has three forms.
| Masculine | Feminine | Neuter |
|---|---|---|
| crven sto | crvena kuća | crveno vino |
| plav kaput | plava haljina | plavo more |
| bijel hljeb | bijela košulja | bijelo mlijeko |
Masculine adjectives also have a longer form, such as bijeli sto (the white table), often used when the thing is already known. Later levels explain it. A few colour words, such as bež, never change. For now, pick the short form that matches your noun.
