я буду, ты будзеш, ён/яна будзе, мы будзем, вы будзеце, яны будуць: Заўтра я буду дома.

How It Works

The forms:

  • я буду
  • ты будзеш
  • ён, яна, яно будзе
  • мы будзем
  • вы будзеце
  • яны будуць

The endings are the same as in first-conjugation verbs. Note the дз in будзеш, будзе, будзем and будзеце (dzekanye).

Three tenses side by side:

Uses:

  • where someone will be: У суботу мы будзем у Брэсце (On Saturday we will be in Brest)
  • what something will be like: Вечар будзе цёплы (The evening will be warm)
  • that something will happen or exist: Увечары будзе дождж (It will rain in the evening; literally there will be rain)
  • having something: У мяне будзе час (I will have time), the future of у мяне ёсць

Negation. Put не before the verb: Я не буду дома (I won't be at home). To say something will not exist, use не будзе with the genitive: Заўтра не будзе дажджу (There will be no rain tomorrow). See не будзе + genitive.

With words like холадна, трэба and можна, use будзе: Заўтра будзе холадна (It will be cold tomorrow). See было and будзе.

    Weather is said with будзе and a noun.

  3. У суботу мы будзем у Брэсце.

  4. Вы будзеце на сустрэчы?

    Will you be at the meeting?

  5. Заўтра будзе холадна.

    It will be cold tomorrow.

  6. У мяне будзе час у нядзелю.

    I will have time on Sunday.

Common Mistakes

  • Using the Russian forms without дз.

    Мы будем дома.
    Мы будзем дома.

    In Belarusian the д before е becomes дз: будзеш, будзе, будзем, будзеце.

  • Using ёсць for something that will happen.

    Заўтра ёсць дождж.
    Заўтра будзе дождж.

    Ёсць is present only. For the future, use будзе.

  • Keeping the nominative after не будзе.

    Заўтра не будзе дождж.
    Заўтра не будзе дажджу.

    When не будзе says something will not exist, the noun goes into the genitive.
